This exciting internship opportunity is designed for students who need practical workplace experience to complete their National Diploma in Agriculture (Crop Production) or National Diploma in Agriculture (Irrigation Systems).
Successful applicants will be placed at Vastfontein Farm in Pretoria North, where they will receive valuable hands-on training while working alongside experienced agricultural professionals. 📌 Key Responsibilities
As a Work Integrated Learning Intern, you will:
- Work alongside experienced agricultural professionals.
- Participate in practical farming and crop production activities.
- Assist with irrigation system operations and maintenance.
- Complete a Work Integrated Learning project assigned by your Line Manager.
- Gain practical workplace experience aligned with your qualification.
- Support cross-functional teams on various agricultural projects.
- Perform additional duties as required to meet business objectives.
- Learn workplace procedures and agricultural best practices.
- Develop technical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Contribute to the daily operations of the farm.
✅ Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be younger than 35 years of age.
- Be registered, or planning to register, for the final year of a National Diploma in Agriculture (Crop Production) or National Diploma in Agriculture (Irrigation Systems) during 2026.
- Require Work Integrated Learning (WIL) as a compulsory requirement to complete the qualification.
- Submit an academic record.
- Submit an official letter from their educational institution confirming that WIL is required.
- Have not worked full-time in their field of study for more than one year.
- Be based in or around the city where the internship is offered.
- Good academic results will be an added advantage.
📅 Programme Duration
Successful candidates will be appointed on a 12-month fixed-term internship contract, allowing them to gain valuable workplace experience while completing the practical requirements of their qualification.
