Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of company goods while supporting logistics operations. The Driver is responsible for maintaining company vehicles, complying with road safety regulations, completing deliveries on schedule, and representing the company professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Transport goods and materials to designated destinations.
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Report vehicle faults or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Follow all road traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and good condition of company vehicles.
- Load and unload goods where required.
- Keep accurate delivery records and relevant documentation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and colleagues.
- Maintain a professional appearance while representing the company.
- Work weekends, public holidays, and after-hours when required.
- Support daily logistics operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence (manual transmission).
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP/PDrDP).
- Between 4 and 5 years’ driving experience, preferably within a logistics company.
- Traceable employment references.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Physically fit and capable of performing job-related duties.
- Sober habits.
- Clear criminal record.
- Clear credit record with no ITC listings or civil judgments.
- Own reliable transport.
- Reside in Durban, preferably within the Umbilo, Berea, or Glenwood areas.
- Willingness to work weekends, overtime, after-hours, and a six-day working week with flexible hours.
- Preferred age range: 25–35 years.
