Job Overview

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the Porter position is to provide exceptional guest service by welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, maintaining clean and organised public areas, and ensuring that every guest enjoys a positive arrival and departure experience. The Porter contributes to the hotel’s reputation by delivering professional, friendly, and efficient service while supporting other departments where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Welcome guests warmly upon arrival at the hotel.
  • Assist guests with carrying and transporting luggage.
  • Escort guests to their rooms when required.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and enquiries.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Collect and distribute mail, parcels, and deliveries within the hotel.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the lobby, entrance, and forecourt areas.
  • Assist in ensuring that public areas remain neat, safe, and welcoming.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow employees.
  • Support hotel operations by assisting other departments when required.
  • Uphold the company’s service standards and hospitality values.
  • Represent the hotel professionally through excellent appearance and behaviour.
