SPCC is looking for a passionate, energetic, and customer-focused Shop Assistant/Cashier to join its retail team at the Eastgate store in Boksburg. This permanent opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in fashion, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
As a Shop Assistant/Cashier, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience by providing excellent customer service, processing sales accurately, maintaining attractive merchandise displays, and supporting daily store operations. Your contribution will help drive sales while ensuring the store remains clean, organised, and welcoming for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Process customer purchases accurately using the tills.
- Assist customers in selecting products and increasing basket value.
- Replenish stock and ensure merchandise is always available on the sales floor.
- Ensure all products are correctly ticketed and visually displayed.
- Support the Store Manager with daily operational duties.
- Keep store equipment secure and properly accounted for.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Understand daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Assist in reducing stock losses through effective stock control.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the store.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- At least one year of retail or cashier experience in a similar environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
