About the Opportunity
An exciting permanent opportunity is available for an experienced Forklift Driver to join the Warehouse team at Packo in Verulam. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, loading, unloading, and storage of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods while ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and health and safety regulations.
This role is ideal for someone who is safety-conscious, dependable, and able to work effectively in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-operational and post-operational forklift inspections.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely.
- Move raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods to designated storage areas.
- Stack pallets safely up to three pallets high.
- Ensure correct weight distribution when loading vehicles.
- Receive and store incoming stock accurately.
- Rotate stock according to the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principle.
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment.
- Follow Food Safety, Health and Safety, and company procedures at all times.
- Assist with monthly stock counts and cycle counts.
- Support the Production department when required.
- Work overtime when operational or dispatch requirements demand it.
Minimum Requirements
✔ Grade 12 (Matric)
✔ Valid Forklift Operator Licence/Certificate
✔ Minimum one year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing environment
✔ Warehouse experience will be advantageous
✔ Medically fit
Knowledge Required
- Warehouse Health and Safety procedures.
- Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Stock handling and storage procedures.
- Safe warehouse operating practices.
Skills and Competencies
- Good planning and organisational skills.

- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work under pressure.
