Key Responsibilities
Packaging and Production Operations
The main responsibility of the Filler Packer is to assist with the processing and packaging of products according to established procedures and production standards.
Duties include:
- Performing various manual production and packaging tasks.
- Assisting with packaging equipment operations, including:
- Mixing processes.
- Proving activities.
- Slicing operations.
- Product labelling.
- Case sealing.
- Palletising and de-palletising.
- Completing assigned production tasks according to the required sequence and procedures.
- Ensuring products are correctly handled throughout the packaging process.
- Supporting efficient production flow by completing tasks accurately and on time.
The role involves repetitive tasks that require consistency, focus, and attention to detail to ensure products meet company standards.
Quality Control and Assurance
The Filler Packer will contribute to maintaining product quality by following quality control procedures and reporting any issues immediately.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting quality checks during production and packaging processes.
- Ensuring products meet required quality standards.
- Reporting any non-conformances or production issues.
- Following quality assurance procedures and company guidelines.
- Completing relevant operational documents and production records accurately.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene Standards

- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintaining cleanliness of assigned equipment and work areas.
- Using allocated cleaning materials correctly.

- Applying good manufacturing practices within the production area.

Operational Excellence and Team Participation
The Filler Packer will be expected to actively participate in improvement initiatives and contribute towards achieving production goals.
Duties include:
- Meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Supporting efficient operation of production processes.
- Participating in Invocoms sessions.
- Identifying and reporting process non-compliance issues.
- Participating in SGA processes to address workplace challenges.
- Taking part in Manufacturing Excellence Methodology activities, including MECP and 20 Keys initiatives.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities within the department.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Matric qualification with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science, or an equivalent qualification.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing and production environment.
- Ability to complete documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
