Key Responsibilities
As a Field Ops Intern, your duties will include:
- Collecting and sampling products from various sources.
- Labelling, registering, and issuing samples to the laboratory.
- Conducting tank gauging to determine product levels and temperatures.
- Inspecting road tankers, rail tankers, ISO tanks, storage tanks, and pipelines for cleanliness.
- Monitoring road tanker loading operations and obtaining weight certificates.
- Inspecting empty road tankers after deliveries.
- Sealing valves, hatches, and pipeline systems.
- Recording inspection data accurately in field notebooks.
- Completing inspection reports, certificates, and maintaining job files.
- Assisting with crude tank farm operations, including sampling, gauging, water draining, and issuing dip sheets.
- Witnessing container packing according to client requirements.
- Monitoring bitumen loading operations onto bulk vessels.
- Ensuring all inspection and sampling equipment is clean and in good working condition.
- Reporting operational issues or deviations to supervisors.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- NQF Level 2–4 qualification in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Grade 12 (Matric) or N3 with Mathematics and Science.
- Must be currently unemployed.
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
- Must be a resident of Durban.
