Bokomo Oats is currently recruiting for three (3) Packer positions at its Epping manufacturing facility in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a Grade 12 qualification and experience in a production or manufacturing environment who are looking to build a career in the food manufacturing industry.
The successful candidates will join the Packing Department and report directly to the Manufacturing Coordinator. The role focuses on ensuring products are packed correctly, safely, and according to the company’s quality and food safety standards.

About the Role
The Packer is responsible for ensuring that finished products are packed accurately, labelled correctly, and prepared for storage or distribution. This role is essential in maintaining product quality, presentation, and compliance with company standards.
Successful candidates will work as part of the production team to ensure packing operations run efficiently while following health, safety, and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
Product Quality
- Check the printer to ensure it is operating correctly.
- Confirm that packed products meet presentation standards.
- Verify that the correct product barcode is used.
- Check bag weights for manual recording.
- Ensure wrapped products maintain their integrity.
- Monitor product quality throughout the packing process.
Pallet Preparation
- Inspect pallets before use to ensure they are suitable.
- Stack pallets neatly and securely.
- Ensure completed pallets are straight and stable.
- Verify that wrapped pallets are correctly secured before dispatch.
Packaging Operations
- Ensure products are correctly packed.
- Confirm barcode accuracy.
- Maintain neat packaging standards.
- Assist with general packing duties within the department.
Health and Safety
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Comply with food safety standards and company policies.
- Report any quality or safety concerns to supervisors.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification
- At least 12 months’ experience in a similar manufacturing or production environment
