Rand Water is seeking a motivated and reliable Handyman to join its Bulk Water Services Operations team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with maintenance experience who are passionate about ensuring that facilities, pipelines, and water infrastructure are maintained in a safe and efficient condition.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out minor building repairs, general maintenance work, servicing water infrastructure, and supporting district operations, including meter reading where required. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or N3 qualification.
- Valid Code 08 South African driver’s licence.
- At least one year of experience in a similar maintenance environment.
- Supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Perform servicing and maintenance of district pipelines.
- Assist with the servicing and maintenance of reservoirs.
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance at the depot.
- Perform general building maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Organise and supervise maintenance teams on site.
- Assist district staff with operational activities, including meter reading when required.
- Report maintenance issues and ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
- Support the overall maintenance and operational effectiveness of Rand Water facilities.
