Pedros is looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, and reliable individuals to join its busy Wackys store in Overport as Chicken Preppers/Cookers. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that all chicken products are prepared according to company standards, maintaining high levels of food quality, hygiene, and safety. Working as part of a dynamic kitchen team, you will help ensure smooth daily operations while contributing to the restaurant’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities
As a Chicken Prepper/Cooker, your duties will include:
- Preparing, cleaning, cutting, and portioning chicken according to company specifications.
- Marinating, seasoning, and breading chicken using approved recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring all chicken products meet quality and freshness standards before preparation.
- Maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety when handling raw chicken.
- Rotating stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to minimise waste and maintain freshness.
- Storing raw chicken safely at the correct temperatures.
- Keeping workstations, preparation areas, utensils, and equipment clean, sanitised, and organised at all times.
- Assisting cooks and other kitchen team members during busy service periods.
- Following all company operational procedures, food safety regulations, and health and safety policies.
- Reporting stock shortages, equipment faults, or food safety concerns to the supervisor or manager.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Previous food preparation or kitchen experience (advantageous but not essential).
- The ability to follow recipes and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
