About the Learnership
This nationally recognised NQF Level 3 Freight Handler Learnership prepares learners for employment opportunities across the freight transport sector, including:
- Warehouses
- Distribution centres
- Factories
- Ports
- Rail operations
- Airports
Learners will receive practical workplace experience while gaining valuable logistics and freight handling skills.
Key Responsibilities
Successful learners will be involved in:
- Inspecting cargo for damage or discrepancies
- Loading and unloading goods safely
- Operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (where applicable)
- Organising and storing stock in warehouses
- Preparing shipping documentation
- Tracking shipments
- Following health and safety procedures
- Coordinating with drivers, warehouse staff and logistics teams
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have Matric (Grade 12).
- Be currently unemployed.
- Be available to start immediately.
- Be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
- Be willing to work shifts when required.
- Be able to commit to the full 12-month learnership.
