This learnership equips participants with essential skills required in warehouse operations, freight handling, logistics coordination, and goods movement within a fast-paced industry.


Key Responsibilities

During the programme, learners will participate in structured training activities and practical tasks, including:

Freight Handling & Transport Support
  • Loading and off-loading goods from delivery vehicles
  • Preparing vehicles for daily trips and ensuring compliance
  • Executing receiving, dispatching, and documentation procedures
  • Supporting ancillary warehouse and transport functions
Warehouse Operations
  • Picking and packing stock accurately for dispatch
  • Receiving and verifying goods against supporting paperwork
  • Ensuring correct stacking and securing of goods for safe transport
  • Conducting general housekeeping to maintain clean, safe working areas
Delivery & Collection Activities
  • Assisting with the delivery and collection of goods and stock
  • Engaging in day-to-day warehouse operations under supervision
Learning & Development Requirements
  • Attending all theoretical training modules aligned with unit standards
  • Completing workplace-based assignments
  • Participating in assessments and preparing for external verification

Learners will gain in-depth exposure to industry systems, operational processes, stock management, and safety protocols.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the talent pool, applicants must meet the following:

  • South African citizen
  • Grade 12 / TVET-N3 / NQF Level 2 qualification
    • Minimum 40% in Mathematics / Maths Literacy and English
  • Ages 23 – 35 years
  • Medically fit to perform physical duties
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Numerical ability and strong attention to detail
  • Willing to work weekends and shifts
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must reside in one of the following areas:
    • Tselinyama
    • Claremont
    • Mariann Hill
    • Chatsworth
    • Mariann Ridge
    • Pinetown
    • Ashley
    • Surrounding areas
The following will be advantageous:
  • Own reliable transport
  • Computer literacy
  • Previous work experience in logistics or warehousing
