Candidates will perform duties that support daily clinic operations, including cleaning, shifting, carrying, and assisting with health, safety, and security functions. Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of General Workers in City of Tshwane clinics include:
- Cleaning Services:
- Maintain cleanliness across primary healthcare facilities and associated structures.
- Ensure floors, surfaces, and workspaces are hygienic and safe for patients and staff.
- Dispose of waste and medical refuse following health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in proper working order.
- Shifting and Carrying:

- Support staff in setting up and relocating items as required for daily operations.
- Health, Safety, and Security Support:
- Observe safety protocols at all times, ensuring the clinic remains compliant with municipal and national regulations.
- Report any health or safety hazards promptly to supervisors.

- Routine and Administrative Support:
- Follow assigned schedules and instructions to maintain clinic efficiency.
- Support clinic staff with ad hoc tasks that improve patient flow and service delivery.
- Document completed tasks or incidents when necessary, providing feedback to supervisors.
Appointment Requirements
To be considered for these positions, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Basic literacy skills to understand instructions and complete assigned tasks.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and fingerprint verification by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at their own cost.
- Flexibility to accept placement at any clinic within the City of Tshwane jurisdiction as required.
