As a General Assistant / Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of warehouse operations and supporting your team by performing a variety of essential tasks. 🛠 Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Warehouse & Yard Housekeeping:
   • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard.
   • Store all equipment safely and ensure proper security measures are in place.
   • Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately to management.
2. Equipment Management:
   • Safely remove equipment from storage and prepare it for dispatch or return to other companies.
   • Inspect all equipment before and after use to ensure it is in good working condition.
   • Count and track equipment daily to maintain accurate inventory records.
   • Protect company assets by handling equipment carefully and preventing damage.
3. Material Handling & Operations Support:
   • Load, unload, stack, and move materials efficiently to support warehouse workflows.
   • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, flatbed carts, and other heavy equipment safely.
   • Follow instructions from Operations Management to meet productivity and accuracy targets.
   • Ensure that required equipment and materials are always available to avoid workflow delays.
4. Compliance & Safety:
   • Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards and operational protocols.
   • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for tasks.
   • Maintain awareness of potential hazards and take proactive steps to prevent accidents.
5. Ad Hoc Duties:
   • Assist with any additional tasks related to warehouse operations or equipment management as assigned by supervisors.
   • Support team members across various tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

✅ Requirements

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in warehouse operations, general assistant roles, stock handling, or equipment operation is highly preferred.
• Licenses: Valid forklift operator license required.
• Skills & Attributes:
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock and inventory management.
  • Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual tasks, including lifting, stacking, and moving items.
  • Comfortable operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work under supervision.
• Other Requirements:
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Residence within 25 km of the job location is preferred.
