This opportunity is for EPWP General Worker: Parks Section, offering 33 positions to unemployed individuals. This is a labour-intensive role requiring physical stamina, teamwork, and commitment to municipal park operations.

🛠 Duties and Responsibilities
The role involves practical and labour-intensive tasks to support the maintenance and beautification of municipal parks:
- Loading and offloading materials, tools, and equipment needed for daily tasks.
- Placement of traffic signs to warn road users of work in progress near municipal roads.
- Cleaning and maintaining parks using manual and powered tools (e.g., grass cutting, tending flower beds, sweeping, raking, brush cutting).
- Operating manual and electrical garden tools safely.
- Performing minor maintenance and assisting with ad hoc duties as requested by supervisors.
- Executing all instructions from supervisors to ensure productivity and compliance with municipal standards.
- Supporting general housekeeping, ensuring that all work areas are safe, clean, and organized.
Note: Personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools of trade will be provided by the municipality.
💰 Remuneration
- Daily Rate: R156.88 per day
- This rate is based on the EPWP General Worker pay scale.
🏆 Candidate Preferences
Preference will be given to:
- Unemployed youth (ages 18–35).
- Candidates promoting employment equity and representativeness in accordance with municipal targets.
- Residents within the jurisdiction of Midvaal Local Municipality. Applicants from other provinces or municipalities will be disqualified.
