About the Role

The General Worker – Picker plays a crucial role in the distribution process, ensuring that all products are accurately preassembled and loaded for delivery. This position supports the smooth operation of the supply chain by ensuring that the right products are prepared efficiently, meeting both customer and company requirements.

The successful candidate will work within the warehouse team to assemble part pallet loads, maintain safety standards, and assist with general warehouse duties. You will also contribute to maintaining Premier FMCG’s high standards of food safety, health, and workplace compliance.

Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker – Picker, you will be responsible for a range of warehouse and logistics functions, including:

• Product Assembly: Accurately preassemble and prepare products for delivery onto trucks and other delivery vehicles.

• Pallet Management: Handle part-pallet loads, ensuring that all orders are complete and correctly labeled.

• Warehouse Support: Assist in the overall cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to maintain operational efficiency.

• Food Safety and Health Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety regulations and food safety standards to ensure a clean and compliant work environment.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow warehouse staff, supervisors, and drivers to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.

• Record Keeping: Assist in recording inventory data and other warehouse documentation when required.

• Manual Handling: Safely lift and move heavy crates or products as part of your daily duties.

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.

Experience:

• 0 to 3 years of experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment.

• Prior exposure to a warehouse or logistics environment will be advantageous.

• A valid forklift driver’s license will be a strong added advantage.

Additional Requirements:

• This is a five-day position, but candidates may be required to work overtime occasionally.

• Flexibility is essential, as weekend and public holiday work may be required based on operational needs.

• The role involves manual labour, including lifting heavy crates and moving products during the loading and packing process.
