About the Role

The Maintenance General Worker will report directly to the Utilities Foreman and will support day-to-day maintenance, housekeeping, and general labour activities within the facility. This role plays an important part in ensuring that the work environment remains safe, clean, and operationally efficient.

The successful candidate will assist skilled maintenance staff, handle basic tools and equipment, and perform physical tasks that contribute to smooth plant operations. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Cleaning and maintaining designated work areas to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met.
• Assisting artisans, maintenance staff, and supervisors with routine tasks and repairs.
• Loading, unloading, and moving materials, tools, and equipment as required.
• Operating basic tools and simple machinery in accordance with safety procedures.
• Performing general labour and maintenance-related duties as assigned by management.
• Following workplace safety rules, procedures, and instructions at all times.
• Supporting maintenance activities during breakdowns, inspections, or routine servicing.
• Working overtime or on weekends when operational requirements demand it.
• Performing duties in outdoor environments, at heights, or under physically demanding conditions where required.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered:

• 1 to 2 years’ experience in manual labour, maintenance, warehousing, construction, or a related environment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety and safe handling of tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and support team objectives.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering consistent work quality.
• Honest, trustworthy, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a productive work environment.
• A valid driver’s license will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
