About the Role

As a Production Learner, you will report directly to the Production Foreman. This is a local, site-based role that forms part of Bridgestone’s manufacturing operations in Brits.

During the learnership programme, learners will be trained to assemble tyres in accordance with defined safety regulations, quality specifications, and production cycle times. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to maintaining workplace safety and operational discipline.


Key Responsibilities

Learners participating in the programme will be expected to perform the following duties under supervision:

  • Conduct basic risk assessments on equipment before use
  • Adhere strictly to all safety rules and regulations
  • Wear provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Maintain 3S (Sort, Set in order, Shine) standards within the assigned work area
  • Check that all controls on the building machine are functioning correctly
  • Remove empty spools, trolleys, rolls, and similar items from machines
  • Return empty materials to the relevant component section
  • Move viewed raw covers into designated storage bays
  • Supply required solutions to production machines
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Produce output in line with the required production targets under the programme scope

Learners are expected to follow instructions carefully, demonstrate responsibility, and contribute positively to team operations.


Qualifications and Experience Required

To be considered for the Production Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or N3 Certificate
  • Mathematics (Pure Mathematics) and/or Physical Science
  • Willingness to work in a production and manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

No prior production experience is required, as training and support will be provided throughout the programme.
