Premier FMCG is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our Production Department as General Workers – Bread Packers at our Salt River, Cape Town facility. About the Role
As a General Worker – Bread Packer, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our Production Department. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that daily production targets are met on time while maintaining the integrity and quality of every product. You will work alongside a committed team to support the bulk production plan, uphold hygiene and safety standards, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the production line.
This role is ideal for individuals who are hardworking, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be exposed to a variety of production processes and gain valuable experience in food manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Product Quality: Ensure that all bread products meet Premier FMCG’s high-quality standards. Monitor production processes to prevent any compromise to product integrity.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times, following the company’s hygiene and safety protocols.
- Adherence to Procedures: Follow all company rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety regulations to maintain a compliant and efficient production process.
- Efficient Production: Contribute to achieving planned daily targets, ensuring that the production line operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Asset Maintenance: Assist in the planned maintenance of assigned equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Record Keeping and Administration: Accurately complete required administrative tasks, such as production logs and quality records, to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Food Safety and Health & Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety protocols. Identify hazards and report them promptly to supervisors.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues, supporting a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous production or manufacturing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per the production roster.
- Ability to work in hot manufacturing environments.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving and continuous improvement.
