Job Overview
Motus Aftermarket Parts, operating under Parts Incorporated Africa (PIA), is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join its Operations team based in Riverhorse, Durban. This permanent position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of automotive parts to customers while adhering to company policies, procedures, and road safety regulations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to and from designated locations, maintaining delivery documentation, and ensuring that company vehicles are kept in a safe and roadworthy condition. This role requires a high level of responsibility, integrity, and attention to detail, as the Driver represents the company when interacting with customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
The Driver will be responsible for a range of operational duties to support efficient delivery services. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting pre-departure and return vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy
- Completing inspection checklists and submitting them to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for sign-off
- Reporting any vehicle defects or errors immediately before leaving the premises
- Ensuring that no vehicle leaves the premises with unresolved mechanical or safety issues
- Loading parcels in collaboration with the Dispatch Supervisor and adhering strictly to the New Dispatch Loading Procedure
- Delivering parcels to customers on designated routes according to route schedules and trip sheets
- Ensuring customers comply with the Proof of Delivery (POD) procedures
- Adhering to the RFC procedure at all times
- Delivering all documents and collection slips allocated to the assigned trip sheet
- Obtaining and returning valid POD documentation for all deliveries made
Documentation and Compliance
Accurate documentation is a key requirement of this role. The Driver will be expected to:
- Sign in trip sheets with the POD Clerk after completing deliveries
- Ensure that all documents assigned to their name are complete and returned the following working day
- Take full responsibility for outstanding trip sheets
- Be accountable for any claims related to missing or incomplete POD documentation
- Ensure no stock transfers occur between customer shops unless authorised
Failure to comply with documentation and POD requirements may result in disciplinary action, as accuracy and compliance are essential to the operations function.
Vehicle Care and Reporting
The Driver will be responsible for maintaining the company vehicle in a clean and safe condition. Duties include:
- Cleaning and maintaining the assigned vehicle regularly
- Reporting any mechanical, safety, or operational issues immediately to the Dispatch Supervisor
- Ensuring the vehicle is used responsibly and only for authorised company purposes
- Reporting any delivery-related problems or POD discrepancies without delay
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
- A minimum of 3 years’ delivery driving experience
- A valid driver’s licence with a valid PDP (Essential)
- Proven time management skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet delivery deadlines
- Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and reliability
- Sober habits
- A clear criminal record

Employment Conditions
