Job Overview

Sportscene is seeking a passionate, trend-aware, and detail-driven Store Visual Merchandiser to join its Gateway store team in KwaZulu-Natal. This full-time (40-hour) role is ideal for a creative individual who lives and breathes streetwear, understands youth culture, and has a strong eye for visual presentation in a fast-paced retail environment.

As a Store Visual Merchandiser, you will be responsible for delivering world-class in-store visual standards that enhance the customer experience and reflect Sportscene’s bold, trend-led brand identity. You will play a key role in translating fashion trends into impactful visual displays that inspire customers and drive sales.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following core areas:

Visual Merchandising Execution

• Implement in-store visual merchandising (VM) standards in line with brand guidelines
• Execute window displays, floor layouts, and product presentations that reflect current fashion trends
• Ensure all visual elements meet world-class standards and enhance the customer journey

Trend Awareness and Brand Alignment

• Stay up to date with the latest fashion, streetwear, and youth culture trends
• Adhere to housing, trend, and brand guidelines to ensure consistency across the store
• Translate trend direction into commercial, customer-focused visual solutions

Planning and Control

• Plan, prioritize, and execute visual merchandising activities effectively
• Implement control systems to maintain VM standards on an ongoing basis
• Manage visual assets, props, and expenses responsibly

Customer Experience

• Deliver a compelling Customer Brand Experience through impactful visual storytelling
• Ensure the store environment is engaging, inspiring, and aligned with Sportscene’s brand DNA
• Support store objectives by driving footfall, engagement, and conversion through visual excellence

Collaboration and Initiative

• Work closely with store management and team members to align visual execution with sales goals
• Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve store presentation
• Operate independently while remaining accountable for visual standards

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Matric Certificate (essential)
• Proven visual merchandising experience (essential)
• Previous retail experience, preferably within fashion or lifestyle retail
