Job Overview

Absa Bank Limited is inviting applications for the BSA Finance Learner role, a structured internship programme designed to support both individual development and organisational growth. This full-time, hybrid opportunity is ideal for graduates who are eager to gain practical workplace exposure within the financial services sector.

The programme allows learners to participate in predefined internship objectives, gain hands-on experience in a professional banking environment, and develop essential skills aligned to business, commerce, and management disciplines.

 

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of the BSA Finance Learner role is to provide structured workplace exposure through a formal internship programme. Learners will support business operations while participating in training, development interventions, and administrative activities that contribute to their professional growth and the performance of the team.

This role is intended to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, preparing learners for future career opportunities within the banking and financial services industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

Learners appointed to the programme will be expected to actively participate in the following areas:

Workplace Experience
  • Attend and participate in all workplace activities aligned to agreed development objectives
  • Gain exposure to banking operations, finance-related processes, and team workflows
  • Apply academic knowledge in a practical business environment
Learning and Development
  • Attend and complete all training and development interventions as scheduled
  • Participate in structured learning programmes, workshops, and on-the-job coaching
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and development throughout the internship
Administrative Support
  • Effectively complete all required administrative tasks
  • Accurately track, update, and report on assigned activities and deliverables
  • Maintain records and documentation in line with organisational standards
Ad Hoc and Team Support
  • Provide general support to customers and internal team members when required
  • Assist with tasks that contribute to overall team performance
  • Respond to requests professionally and within agreed turnaround times
Education and Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the BSA Finance Learner programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields (or related disciplines):
    • Business
    • Commerce
    • Management Studies
  • Strong interest in finance, banking, and corporate environments
  • Willingness to learn and actively participate in a structured internship programme
