Position Overview
The General Worker role is based within the Trade Division at the Kokstad Retail business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general warehouse and operational duties that support the daily functioning of the retail operation. This position requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the General Worker will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Loading and off-loading goods from delivery trucks in a safe and efficient manner
- Sorting, packing, and storing stock according to company procedures
- Assisting with accurate stock counts and inventory control
- Ensuring that the warehouse and working areas are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times
- Supporting other staff members when required to ensure smooth daily operations
- Being willing to work overtime during busy periods or when operational needs require it
- Adherence to safety standards and company policies is essential in this role.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants who wish to be considered for this position must meet the following requirements:
- A Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- Good communication skills and the ability t follow instructions
- Excellent physical health and the ability to perform manual labour
- A strong sense of honesty, reliability, and responsibility
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when required
- Previous experience in a warehouse or retail environment may be beneficial but is not mandatory, as this is an entry-level position.
