Bidfood South Africa is inviting applications from unemployed South African youth to participate in the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme 2026. This programme offers a structured 12-month paid work experience opportunity aimed at developing workplace skills and improving long-term employability.

Successful applicants will be based in Bloemfontein, Free State, where they will gain hands-on exposure within the Wholesale and Retail foodservice industry.


About the Bidfood SA YES Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme is a nationally recognised initiative designed to address youth unemployment by providing young people with meaningful work experience. Bidfood South Africa’s YES Programme focuses on equipping participants with practical, job-ready skills while exposing them to real workplace environments.

Participants will be placed in a professional corporate setting where they will receive guidance, coaching, and mentorship from experienced staff members. The programme encourages discipline, teamwork, accountability, and personal growth, while allowing participants to explore potential career paths within Bidfood SA or the broader foodservice industry.

Minimum Requirements (Who Can Apply)

To be considered for the Bidfood SA YES Programme 2026, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Aged between 18 and 35 years
  • Currently unemployed
  • Not registered as a full-time student
  • Must not have previously participated in the YES Programme
  • In possession of a Matric certificate
  • Willing and able to commit to the full 12-month programme
  • Eager to learn and adaptable
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Genuine interest in the foodservice industry

Applicants who do not meet these requirements should not apply.


Location

The programme will be conducted in Bloemfontein, Free State. Applicants must be able to attend work on-site for the full duration of the programme.
